Actions in and across spaces

Collaborative exhibition at Atelier 16, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart.

(no)action(no)space was a durational collaborative research and working platform investigating collective spaces of action and the structures that support and inhabit them. A shared space of action, developed over several informal symposia on its way to becoming a digital publication, was made public in November 2016 as an exhibition at Akademie Schloss Solitude. The exhibition asked: what infrastructures have emerged or might now be required, and how do these in turn shape the individual contributions and positions of its participants? Entering the institution through a back door, the artists took the opportunity to interact, together with their tools, potentialities and limitations, within co-created spaces that are analogue, virtual, social and fictional.

Actions included: a reading group for Donna Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble (2016) during which sauerkraut was simultaneously made, a passing of tea and homemade cake out to passers-by through the studio window, card games, discussions, daily exercises and excursions.
