Inhabited installation & performative events
Solo exhibition & events at Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre, University of British Columbia Okanagan, Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, Kelowna (Canada).
A one-month appointment as Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre’s international Artist-in-Residence 2090, hosted by Astrida Neimanis’s FEELed Lab. During this time the Society met with local lichen enthusiasts, naturalist groups and scientists, toured sites of special significance, and conducted a weekend excursion to Clearwater, BC, to visit renowned lichenologist and Co-curator of Lichens at the Herbarium of UBC Vancouver, Trevor Goward. A Society brochure was produced and a new bulletin (Summer 2090) prepared.
The residency concluded with a performative afternoon lichen love poetry workshop, held in the Society’s temporary log cabin HQ installation at Woodhaven. It involved spending time with local lichen communities, a video intervention from Goward, and collaboratively-written ’tanka’ love poems (to lichen) that are presently being collected together into a special anthology publication.
